5 Natural and Non-Natural Acne Treatments

In a moment we’ve all been trying to find ways on how to be completely free of acne. Here are some natural and not so natural acne treatments that have proven effective.

1. Witch Hazel Astringent

This astringent is derived from the plant with the same name. It is widely spread from Nova Scotia in Canada to Texas and Florida. Simply steam the branches of this plant and voila! The extract it receives from serving as an astringent. Remember that although fresh. The good thing about this is that naturally occurring and even the process that has suffered is all natural. You can be sure that it is less severe in comparison with commercially produced astringent.

2. Commercially produced Astringents

4. Oral Antibiotics

For severe cases, antibiotics are prescribed. These drugs are taken orally to reduce the amount of bacteria in and around the follicles in the skin. Also irritating chemicals decrease the white blood cells produced. Finally, antibiotics reduce the concentration of free fatty acids in sebum, also creating an anti-inflammatory action. Ask your dermatologist for an appropriate antibiotic and dosage.

Compared to tetracycline, which can only kill bacteria, erythromycin has both anti-inflammatory and bacteria-killing properties. 5. Topical Treatments
