January 12, 2010

Many people are suffering from the problem of diabetes worldwide. The health concern of diabetes can strike anybody and is not dependent on factors like sex or age. There are particular things that will increase your chance of going through diabetes manifolds. Read on to understand about these factors and in which way they may finish up in the frequency of diabetes.

As is popularly known, obesity is a strong risk factor, particularly for type two diabetes. Any obese person has far more likelihood of becoming diabetic than an individual with ordinary Body Mass Index. Needless fat adversely impacts the insulin levels in human body. As your body weight goes up, the capability of your insulin has a tendency to decline. This leads to increase in sugar level of your body. You should maintain proper body mass to make sure that you look healthy enough. At the same time it’s vital to maintain balance and never turn chubby. For this, make sure you get lots of exercise, at least 30 mins a day would do the trick.

Your way of life also impacts your percentages of diabetes to a certain amount. The more physically active you are, the lower would be your blood sugar levels. And the muscles of your body can absorb far more insulin than the fat in your body. The more you exercise, the better your body can use insulin [ because of more muscles ]. Your blood sugar level becomes stable. If of-course you don’t have an active approach to life, you will get more fat and thus a high risk of diabetes.

Unhealthy diet habits is the most important reason when it comes to reasons behind diabetes. Anybody that eats in an improper manner is more susceptible to diabetes than a person who is more disciplined in dieting habits. One unacceptable habit is to eat too much sugar and carbohydrates. Your blood sugar goes up because these products can be digested simply. A common example is fast food which must be replaced with a more fibrous diet.

Family history and genetics also play a very important role in causing diabetes. If either of the elders or someone in the family is diabetic then the chances are robust that you too could be a victim of the problem. African Americans, Hispanic-Americans and Native Americans all have a higher than standard rate of type 2 diabetes due to heriditary factors.

In addition to the above debated reasons ; other factors that increase the probability of diabetes are high blood pressure, age, high cholesterol levels and several others. You cannot do much about stopping yourself from factors like family history. However, you keep having command over other factors like that of weight and diet. It’s preferable to nip the problem in the bud. Watch out for these risk factors and take acceptable cares so you can forestall the issue from arising at all.
