How To Grow Taller - Changing Your Diet

February 22, 2010

“We are what we eat” - This is the fact. Diet, Diet & only Diet is the key if you wish to become taller. Is diet important and why? Let us start with basics first. Growth hormones are responsible for growth. Hormones, are made up of amino acids and any science student would be able to tell you this easily.

So to put it simply, amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. In that case, taking in proteins gives your body amino acids. And through the usual digestion process by the stomach, these huge chunks of proteins will be broken down into their building blocks - amino acids.

Having high proteins is not what is needed to address the problem. Instead, (as what my doctor would always tell me) take food in moderation.

Good sources for Protein? Groundnuts, pork, almonds, chicken.

This is not all that is needed for becoming taller.

Other things that are needed are as follows…

1. Calcium

You know as much as I do that our bones are made of calcium (another hint to how to grow taller), so it’s obvious that you need to have a healthy calcium intake so that your body has the starting material to build your bones.

It is not a secret that calcium is crucial for our bones as well as teeth. Children should consume more calcium since it is vry important for growth, moreover, older people should consume it too. It is also useful for lower blood pressure. Calcium also helps our heart and muscles to work properly. Our bodies cannot produce calcium and this is the reason why we should eat calcium rich food. When we eat such food, calcium is delivered to our organs and they function better.

Cheese, Milk and Eggs are the main sources of calcium.

2. Vitamin D

Vitamin D aids in absorption of calcium during digestion. Even if you take lots of calcium, it makes no sense without Vitamin D. Few Vitamin D rich foods are egg yolk, fish oils and butte.
