If you are traveling with diabetes, there are some factors to keep in mind before and during the trip. Here I will point out some tips for you to consider in your traveling, so your diabetes does not get in your way and ruin your travel.

Have a visit to your doctor for evaluation a least one month before your scheduled travel. This will be enough time for you to feel your diabetes condition is under control. Also a good time for any required immunizations to be administered and a good period of time for your body to go through any necessary adjustments.

Have in your possession a letter from your doctor stating that you have a diabetic condition, including all the medications and supplies you should have with you. In the absense of this document will be very difficult for you at security chekmarks at airports and at every international destination.

Wear an ID bracelet publicizing your have diabetes, and also carry a little card asserting in the local language of the places you’ll be visiting. Since you will not know the way to pronounce the words, the best way is to hold them on a released card and simply point to what you need to assert.

Carry an emergency kit with appropiate bandages and first aid cream. Also, keep in mind that you will serve your foot well if you provide them with snug walking shoes and good protecting beach shoes. An extra care for your foot during your traveling will be something you will never regret.

During your traveling, your blood must be checked with more frecuency than usual. With this in mind you will be more prepare to improve your chances for corrective action if needed.
