Male Sexual Health Problems - Erectile Dysfunction In India

August 15, 2010

Pfizer’s Viagra reached India 7 years past its worldwide release. The cost though turned out to be to be a disappointment for patients who were eagerly awaiting for its official entry into the Indian market. Pfizer’s Viagra is priced at Rs 463 per 50mg pill and Rs. 594 for 100mg pill. With various local alternatives obtainable at smaller cost Viagra sales didn’t rise in India.

Pfizer’s has responded to the outrage at their India pricing by saying that their price is the same internationally and that the medication is totally worth that cost.

Pfizer really has its job cut out due to the currency exchange factor between Dollar and Rupee. Rs 594 in terms of Indian Rupees is far more expensive to the common Indian than $12 is to an American purely because of the way the economics of the two countries are organized. Not just that, Pfizer’s Viagra also has to compete with local ED drugs in India that are priced a lot lower.

Not only that, the much talked about miracle ingredient in Viagra has been incorporated into a lot of generic variants of Viagra and are available for much lesser price whilst imparting similar results. Yes, Generic variants of Viagra are now available in India for less than 50Rs per tablet and that makes Pfizer’s Viagra a pointless deal. At over Rs.100Cr the ED market in India is very big indeed. The bulk of this market is controlled by Generic variants of Viagra.

Viagra is greatly useful for men suffering from erectile dysfunction and the craze for the medication is understandable. A normal erection calls for a particular series of events to happen and usually ED can occur when any of the events are hindered. The sequence includes nerve impulses in the brain, spinal column, and area around the penis, and the response in fibrous tissues, muscles and the arteries and veins near the corpora cavernosa.

The injury to nerves, arteries, smooth muscles, and fibrous tissues are most likely a result of an inherent disease. Disorders like diabetes, kidney disease, chronic alcoholism, multiple sclerosis, atherosclerosis, vascular disease, and neurological disease account for about 70pct of ED cases. Other than these, erectile dysfunction can arise due to a few psychogenic reasons as well. Infrequent occurrence of erectile dysfunction is common in men of all age but its regular occurrence can be a cause of worry.

ED can be depressing, but thanks to ED medicines like Viagra, you can easily overcome ED and have a good sex life. It can help u revive your sexual vigor by treating ED from the root. Welcome Viagra and bid goodbye to erectile dysfunction.
