Massage Chairs Can Improve Your Health with Massage!

January 15, 2012

How is it that we just do not ever seem to have enough time. We know we need to take better care of our bodies, but somehow we just keep cutting corners. We are all busy. We know we need to make good health a higher priority, but. Well, you know, but. We do know that stress builds everyday. It is cumulative. How does that stress get reduced? Since ancient times, massage therapy was the preferred method. Today, how about the day spa? Nice, if I had the time. This is where a massage chair can help.

Massage chairs have advanced with the pace of technology and include many therapeutic massage therapies. Massage therapy involves the manipulation of the skin and muscles to relieve and alleviate aches, pain and discomfort. Massage chairs deliver full body massages from the base of the skull to your feet. They come with an arsenal of massage techniques and can also pinpoint certain problem areas.

What do the studies say about massage therapy? Massage therapy is effective in helping the following: relax muscles; reduce heart rate: increase blood flow and lymph flow; reduce stress; and improve range of motion of joints. Massage therapy is not just about something that feels good. It is about releasing the building up of stress. Remember stess is cumulative and constantly builds. Massage therapy is about periodic treatment. Diet and exercise are not one time events and neither is massage therapy.

OK, we know massage therapy is good for our health, but I just do not have the time. I love the day spa and it is wonderful for a great array of massage therapy. My only gripe is not having enough time to take advantage of it. By the time I go and get my wonderful treatment and come home, it took over 2 hours. Now, most of the time was heavenly bliss, so I am not complaining. It it just finding that amount of time (forget about money) to get the benefit. Now, a massage chair has one great advantage. It is always waiting for me with its tireless mechanical hands to relieve my daily stress.

One of the big time savers, not that I want to rush your massage, is how a massage chair delivers the massage versus a therapist. The typical massage therapist starts you on your back, works up and down your back. Works down one leg and then the other. Flips you over and then continues on to one leg and then the other. Next, one arms and then the other. The therapist covers 5 major areas in 50 minutes. This is roughly 10 minutes per area.

Now, a massage chair performs a full body massage as well. The difference is the massage chair works in parallel, so all major areas are receiving massages simultaneously. Since all areas are being massaged, the total massage time is only 10 minutes. The massage therapist by contrast work 5 areas for 10 minutes each for a total of 50 minutes. The massage therapist takes 5 times longer to cover the same area.

How can a massage chair can help you? The big advantage of the massage recliner is availability. It is there when you need it. How hard is it to integrate massage therapy, when you can get a full body 50 minute massage in 10 minutes. But do not feel rushed! Go another 5 or 10 minutes. The relief from those aches and pains is invaluable. Get your health back in balance and integrate massage therapy into your total health routine. Stress is continuous, the solutions to counteract its affects must also be. A massage chair recliner can be that help you just can not get from anybody else!

It is your health. Why not improve it with daily massage treatments with a Massage Chair? View and research the premier massage chair brands from Panasonic, Omega and Sanyo. We have Massage Chair Reviews on all the major brands whether we carry them or not. We want you to find the perfect massage chair for your needs.

Daily Stress Relief: Massage Chairs Bring You Comfort

August 22, 2010

A day spa has many great teatments for relief of stress and anxiety. If only one could go daily to the day spa, our stresses could be mitigated on an ongoing bases. However, most of us are not able to go everyday to the day spa, maybe we can make it a few times a week. Even these occasional day spa visits can relieve built up stress. If only our stress build up happened on the days our visits are scheduled to the local day spa, then our stress could be zeroed out. Unfortunately, most stress is ongoing. So how does one get daily relief? A shiatsu massage chair recliner provides a great alternative or compliment to relieving the daily build up of stress and anxiety.

Massage is being shown in many new studies to help reduce instances of anxiousness and feelings of stress. Therapeutic massage helps people feel more relaxed as well as alert. A massage for stress relief aids in relaxation because it contributes to peace of mind and to an emotional feeling of well-being. A shiatsu massage chair helps to relieve aching and tired muscles helping one to relax.

The best massage chair manufacturers include music therapy. These manufacturers have functions to synchronize the massage to the music in their MP3 players. The mind has many ongonig pertubations making relaxation difficult. Music therapy induces relaxation by calming and quieting the mind. The top massage chairs provide a total sensory environment with music and massage inducing whole body relaxation.

Shiatsu massage recliners are designed to cover the entire back, the hips, thighs and buttocks, and also the calves and feet. Full body massages have been studied by researches and doctors documenting the positive impact of massage in reducing stress. As stress is reduced, patients have decreased blood pressure, heal faster, and have deeper sleep. A massage chair can provide these therapies postively impacting anxiety and stress build up and tension.

As anxiety and tension decreases with a routine massage chair therapy, the body’s energy and invigoration increases. As one feels better, in turn, an improved self-image, sense of self worth may result. In fact, massage therapy and the depression connection is now being explored. That’s because massage therapy has in some cases helped to reduce feelings of depression and negative self-worth. If your body is stressed and you cannot relax, this can lead to anxiety which may start thoughts of negativity. With the help of a shiatsu massage chair, this cycle could be reversed.

With a shiatsu massage chair, one does not have to give up trips to the day spa. A massage chair will increase the frequency of access to massage therapy which helps to provide daily relief. Day spas offer treatments that you cannot get with a massage chair, such as a sauna or peels or wraps. Maybe we will see these in the future as technology advances, but for now a routine massage or an evening in a massage chair can really work wonders on your physical and mental well-being.

Shiatsu Massage Has Many Benefits To You

April 16, 2010

Shiatsu is another ancient form of therapy. It is a therapy designed to relieve stress in the body and to promote healing of bodily ailments. The roots of this interesting therapy are traced back to China, yet the Japanese have made it their own. By adding figure pressure, the Japanese are applying Acupuncture but without the needles. Shiatsu involves detecting energy blockages in the body. It helps on releasing them to restore the flow.

Acupressure massage is also an offshoot using acupoints. It is different from shiatsu massage and that it only concentrates on the acupressure points. Shiatsu, on the other hand, seeks to restore balance and harmony to the body using specialized movements and actions.

Shiatsu also involves the stretching and manipulating of different muscles and soft tissue areas. The typical movements in shiatsu massage are using increasing pressure in a rhythmic pattern. Holding pressure is also used with the hands and a gradual pressure release.

Both shiatsu and acupressure follow the principles regarding the energy flow through the body. This is common practice in many diverse Oriental medicines. There is a common belief in a life energy force which permeates throughout the body. Conflicts with this energy cause turmoil in the body.

Practitioners of shiatsu are able to locate blockages of energy in the body. They then concentrate on releasing this energy to restore balance. When the energy is upset, it is believed that it is the cause of a variety of health-related problems. Shiatsu is designed to bring the body back into balance and restore health.

Shiatsu massage uses a simple multi-technique. The hands are used to wrap around a given area and gently squeeze. This technique provides three things for the user including the sensation of squeezing pressure, tactile feel and warmth. These three critical elements are thought to help revitalize the spirit.

Shiatsu involves many very subtle techniques and movements. These have evolved throughout the centuries and continue to this day. Practitioners of today use other variants of techniques in addition to the mainstream shiatsu techniques.

There is also a barefoot shiatsu version. Practitioners of the barefoot shiatsu actually walk on your back. The person is layed on a flat surface and the practitioner uses their bare feet to deliver the massage. The weight of the practitioner determines the force which can be applied to the person.

One of the more popular massage therapies in a world in is shiatsu. International spas offer shiatsu treatments as part of their standard fare. Almost every massage therapy school plans courses in shiatsu massage treatments.

Many of the elements of shiatsu massage are being integrated into massage chairs. Massage chairs are able to imitate the hand movements of a masseuse. Sophisticated software programs enable massage chairs to perform a scan of the back and make a map of individual acupoints. The program then feeds those coordinates and prioritizes them for relieving and soothing.

Shiatsu massage is quite an invigorating massage to obtain. You will definitely understand major relationships in your body. The tenseness and tightness of muscles will be found out quickly. The treatment to those areas to unblock energy is central to shiatsu philosophy. There are many subtle elements constituting shiatsu massage therapy.

Shiatsu is an interesting traditional therapy which has evolved with the times. It is quite fascinating that many of these complex relationships in the body were clearly understood in ancient times. Traditional health practitioners understand many of the subtle relationships within the body.
