Weight Loss Doesn’t Have To Be Difficult
December 23, 2011It is sometimes easy to forget what you are losing the weight for. It may have been easy to start the process, but it can get discouraging quickly or something else in your life may come up that seems more important. How can you gain inspiration from more motivated people around you? What is their key to achieving lasting results?
It is imperative that you set a goal for yourself when you want to lose weight. Do you simply yearn to fit into your old clothes, or do you actually want to make a huge reduction in your weight? Are you interested in feeling more fit and improving your overall health? You should set a weight loss goal to give yourself something to achieve.
Keeping track of your weight loss each week will help you know how well you’re doing. If you do a weekly weigh-in and write it down along with what you eat and drink, you will be able to see how you are progressing, and whether any changes are in order. Writing all your choices down will help you make better decisions.
The need to eat while away from home is inevitable. Prepare a weekly menu so that you will know what you are going to eat ahead of time. Make sure you are ready for anything! Pack some snack or a nutritious lunch to take with you anywhere you go. Give some thought to how much cash you will save by not dining out. Perseverance is the name of the game.
Eating right and keeping up to your regular exercise regimen is the best way to lose weight. Try to exercise 3 or 4 times a week, but be sure to allow a few days a week for your body to rest. If exercise appears to be boring or tedious to you, you should try to find other activities that are more fun and enjoyable to incorporate into your workout routine. For instance, if dancing is your thing, how about signing up for a dance class?
Few people follow this advice. Have a cleaning party - invite your friends over to help you get rid of the junk food in your fridge and pantry by taking it home with them. If they are not in your kitchen, you cannot easily get to them when a craving for junk food hits. Be sure to fill the void with healthful choices such as yogurt, fruits & veggies, nuts, whole grains, and other nourishing foods. Remember, if you do not have the choice to eat unhealthy foods then you cannot eat them.
Invite a friend to workout with you. It is easy to put off what needs to be done when you are only accountable to yourself. If someone else is exercising alongside you, you’ll be less likely to take a break when the workout starts to wear you down. By encouraging one another, you’ll increase both of your chances for success.
